Publication Ethics Statement
Petroleum Reservoir Evaluation and Development is committed to reinforcing the professional ethics of authors, reviewers, and editors. In accordance with the relevant guidelines published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and combined with the actual situation of the journal, we have formulated the ethical standards for the publication of the journal.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
(1) Manuscripts should not be submitted to multiple journals at the same time, and previously published works should not be resubmitted for publication.
(2) Manuscripts should be original and free from plagiarism, data fabrication, and other academic misconduct. Additionally, manuscripts should not contain any confidential information.
(3) The manuscript's content should be presented with scientific accuracy. Authors are responsible for its correctness.
(4) All listed authors should meet the journal's authorship criteria. Changes to authorship, whether adding or removing authors, require valid justification.
(5) Authors should objectively evaluate the work of their peers and credit them appropriately by citing relevant sources.
(6) Any funding sources directly related to the research should be transparently disclosed within the manuscript. Unrelated funding details are unnecessary.
(7) Authors should respect reviewers' feedback. In case of disagreements, authors can appeal to the editorial office.
2. Responsibilities of Reviewers
(1) Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts in a timely manner and offer detailed review comments. If they cannot complete the review within the specified timeframe, they should notify the editorial office promptly.
(2) Review comments should be objective, precise, and devoid of insults or personal attacks.
(3) Reviewers must recognize and respect the authors' research contributions, ensure confidentiality of the manuscript's content, and abstain from any unauthorized use of the authors' research findings.
(4) Reviewers should avoid reviewing manuscripts in which they have potential conflicts of interest, be it competitive, collaborative, or other associations with the authors or organizations involved.
3. Responsibilities of Editors
(1) Editors should manage the registration, peer review, editing, and publication of manuscripts impartially and timely.
(2) Editors must uphold publishing standards throughout the editing and publishing processes.
(3) Editors should recognize and respect the research contributions of the authors, ensure confidentiality of the manuscript's content, and abstain from any unauthorized use of the authors' research findings.
(4) Editors should value the feedback provided by peer reviewers. If authors raise objections, they should be granted the right to appeal.
(5) Editors should foster academic discussions and embrace diverse perspectives.
(6) The double-blind peer review system should be employed to guarantee the confidentiality of both authors and peer reviewers.
(7) Editors should avoid handling manuscripts in which they have potential conflicts of interest, whether they be competitive, collaborative, or due to other associations with the authors or affiliated organizations.
4. Advertising
Petroleum Reservoir Evaluation and Development does not publish any commercial advertisements. Both the articles within the journal and content on journal's official website and associated online platforms are free from advertising content.
